Proton has reported a strong sales performance for April 2026, delivering a total of 18,156 vehicles across its internal combustion engine (ICE), electric vehicle (EV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) lineup.

The figure represents a 15.6% increase compared to March 2026, when the company sold 15,706 units. With this latest achievement, Proton’s year-to-date (YTD) sales have reached 67,298 units, marking a significant 40.9% improvement over the same period last year.

Based on its current momentum, the national automaker remains on track to achieve its 200,000-unit sales target for 2026. Proton estimates its market share for April at around 25%, while its cumulative market share for the first four months of the year is projected at 26.4%.

Leading the company’s sales once again was the Proton Saga MC3, which recorded 8,207 units sold in April. This was a sharp rise from the 5,438 units delivered in March. The model’s total sales for the year have now climbed to 29,977 units, reinforcing its position as one of Malaysia’s most popular cars.

The Proton S70 MC1 also maintained steady demand with 2,377 units sold, while the refreshed Proton X50 continued its strong SUV performance with 2,603 units in April, bringing its YTD total to 10,174 units. Sales of the Proton X90 MC improved to 462 units, with growth of 28.1% year-on-year.

On the electrified side, Proton delivered 3,420 EV and PHEV units in April, bringing total electrified sales to 11,664 units YTD.

The Proton eMas 5 remained the top-selling EV model with 1,771 units in April, while the Proton eMas 7 EV added 636 units.

The standout performer was the Proton eMas 7 PHEV, which achieved 1,013 units in its second full month, pushing its YTD total to 1,755 units, with demand expected to rise further.

Proton Edar CEO Datuk Abdul Rashid Musa said the company is confident in achieving its 2026 targets, supported by upcoming launches and expansion plans in both local and export markets.
