Xi'an Jiaotong University is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education and a member of China's C9 university system. Founded in 1896, it is one of China's oldest institutions of higher learning. It is a comprehensive research university with a strong emphasis on science and engineering, encompassing 11 disciplines: science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, liberal arts, law, philosophy, art, education, and interdisciplinary studies. Currently, nearly 4,000 international students from over 130 countries study at Xi'an Jiaotong University. VI. Application Materials
1. Scanned copy of a valid foreign passport;
2. Notarized high school diploma or equivalent certificate (fresh graduates may use pre-exam scores for application);
3. Academic transcripts. Transcripts of all high school courses and university entrance examination transcripts (original and notarized);
4. Proof of Chinese proficiency (candidates whose native language is Chinese and have been certified by the school are not required to submit this document);
5. One letter of recommendation from a high school principal or teacher (signed by the recommender and include email and phone number);
6. Study plan. Written in Chinese or English, no less than 600 words;
7. Original and notarized copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Record" (This form is printed uniformly by the Chinese health and quarantine authorities and can be downloaded at https://sie.xjtu.edu.cn/en/Application_Guide/Data_Download.htm. It must be completed in English or Chinese. Applicants must strictly follow the required items during the examination. Forms with missing items, without a photograph or a photo stamp, or without a physician's opinion and the hospital's signature and stamp will be invalid. The examination results are valid for 6 months);
8. Criminal record certificate (validity period required);
9. Other supporting materials (if any).

2. "1+4" Preparatory Undergraduate Direct Admission Program
The university offers an 11-, 18-, or 36-week "1+4" pre-undergraduate program for outstanding high school graduates, designed to help applicants further optimize their knowledge. Applicants will receive a comprehensive review before beginning their pre-undergraduate studies to determine their eligibility for undergraduate studies and the level of their undergraduate scholarship. Upon completion of the pre-undergraduate program, applicants who meet the Chinese Language Proficiency Standards for International Students (HSCS) Level 4 and submit a valid transcript from the Chinese Language Proficiency Test (CSCA) will be admitted directly to the undergraduate program without further review or interviews. Applicants who fail to meet the Chinese language proficiency requirements or submit a valid CSCA transcript will be ineligible for program admission and will be disqualified.
Note: All students applying to study for an undergraduate degree in China must take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) administered by the China Scholarship Council of the Ministry of Education of China and submit valid transcripts.
