Process & Utility Piping Installation

Process & Utility Piping Installation

Our Piping Installation Expertise

L-Vision delivers end-to-end piping solutions for process and utility systems in demanding industrial environments. Our scope covers design, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning—tailored to meet the needs of food, mineralchemical, pharmaceutical, and general manufacturing plants across Singapore and Malaysia.

BIM-Integrated Piping Design & Spool Tracking

We use Building Information Modelling (BIM) to generate coordinated 3D models and isometric drawings, perform clash detection, and manage spool tracking throughout the fabrication and installation phases—ensuring smoother construction and fewer reworks.

Pipe Spool Fabrication

We prefabricate piping spools in a controlled workshop to ensure dimensional accuracy, consistent weld quality, and minimal site disruption. All spools are produced in accordance with ASME B31.3, SS 608, or project-specific requirements, with full material traceability and weld mapping.

▶ Materials handled: SS304/316, carbon steel, HDPE, PVC, duplex, PTFE-lined pipe, and more.
▶ Welding methods: TIG, butt-weld, orbital welding (for high-purity systems)

On-Site Installation

Our installation team executes on-site piping installation with strict attention to alignment, slope, accessibility, and support configuration. We plan and phase our work to reduce production disruption and meet shutdown deadlines.

▶ Includes routing of process lines, utility headers, and integration into plant layouts
▶ Compliant with all HSE, MOM (Singapore), or DOSH (Malaysia) regulations

Hook-Up & Tie-In Works

We connect piping systems to equipment such as pumps, tanks, reactors, skids, and utility headers. All tie-ins are performed safely—often during plant shutdowns or live system connections, with close coordination to avoid operational risk.

Testing & Quality Assurance

Each system is tested for safety, durability, and performance before handover. We offer:

  • Hydrostatic Testing
  • Pneumatic Testing
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
    • - Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT)

    • - Radiographic Testing (RT)

    • - Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

Full documentation, including pressure test reports, weld logs, and inspection forms, is provided as part of QA/QC.

Thermal Insulation – Hot & Cold

We install insulation systems tailored for both high-temperature and low-temperature services:

  • Hot Insulation (e.g., steam, hot oil): Rockwool, calcium silicate

  • Cold Insulation (e.g., chilled water, glycol, ammonia): Foamglas, nitrile rubber

  • Cladding Options: Aluminium, stainless steel, or PVC jacket

Proper insulation improves energy efficiency, prevents condensation, and reduces long-term maintenance.

Our Installation Process

A structured and proven approach to deliver high-performance process and utility piping—safely, efficiently, and to spec.

1

Site Evaluation & Planning

We begin with a detailed site walkdown to assess existing conditions, utility tie-in points, routing constraints, and safety considerations. From there, we develop a customized installation strategy tailored to your plant layout, schedule, and shutdown windows.

2

Off-Site Fabrication

Using approved isometrics, we fabricate piping spools and assemblies in a controlled workshop. All components undergo strict dimensional checks, welding inspections, and material traceability to ensure consistent quality and minimize rework on site.

3

On-Site Installation & Hook-Up

Our installation team mobilizes to erect pipe racks, route utility/process lines, and connect systems to pumps, tanks, and skids. All welding, fit-up, and support works are performed under experienced supervision and aligned with project QA/QC protocols.

4

Testing & Commissioning

We carry out hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure tests to verify system integrity, along with NDT for critical joints. Additional flushing, passivation, or chemical cleaning is performed as required by system service.

5

System Handover

After successful testing and final punch list clearance, we provide a complete documentation package—as-built drawings, test reports, material certificates, and operation manuals—for seamless turnover and audit readiness.

What Sets Us Apart

Engineering-Led Planning

We don’t just install — we plan with precision. Our detailed assessments and constructability reviews ensure smooth execution, minimize site clashes, and align with your plant’s operational needs.

On-Time, On-Spec Execution

With off-site spool fabrication, experienced site installation team, and tight schedule control, we consistently deliver within shutdown windows — without compromising quality or safety.

Proven QA/QC & Testing

From welding to hydrotesting and NDT, every step is verified. You get full compliance, long-term reliability, and peace of mind that your piping systems are built to perform.

FAQs for Project Managers

What is the difference between process piping and utility piping?

Process piping transports the actual product or chemicals involved in production (e.g. steam, solvents, acids), while utility piping supports the operation with services like compressed air, chilled water, steam, nitrogen, or vacuum. Each has different material and code requirements — and we’re experienced in both.

How do you manage piping installations during plant shutdowns?

We plan in advance with detailed site coordination, fabricate spools off-site, and sequence the installation to minimize downtime. Our team is experienced in working within tight shutdown windows without affecting surrounding operations.

Can you work with existing (aging) systems or partially modified lines?

Yes. We frequently handle brownfield projects. We perform site surveys, isometric extraction, and laser scanning (if required) to design custom tie-ins that integrate smoothly with existing lines and legacy equipment.

What codes and standards do you follow for piping installation?

We follow international codes such as ASME B31.3, API, and local authority requirements (MOM in Singapore, DOSH in Malaysia). All work is executed under strict QA/QC procedures including WPS/PQR, hydrotesting, and NDT where required.

Do you provide documentation and support after project handover?

Yes. You will receive full documentation — including as-built drawings, test reports, material certificates, and installation records — which are essential for audit, maintenance, and future modifications. We also remain available for post-installation support if required.

How do you ensure safety during installation in live plants?

We adopt a risk-based approach, conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and work under Permit-To-Work (PTW) systems. Our team is trained in confined space entry, work-at-height, and hot work procedures to ensure safe execution without disrupting operations.

Do you provide 3D modeling or BIM coordination for clash detection?

We adopt a risk-based approach, conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and work under Permit-To-Work (PTW) systems. Our team is trained in confined space entry, work-at-height, and hot work procedures to ensure safe execution without disrupting operations.
