KUALA LUMPUR (May 21): The former Glenmarie Hotel & Golf Resort has officially rebranded and reopened as Hilton Shah Alam Glenmarie under new management on March 1, 2026. The repositioned property is now focusing on strengthening its presence in the growing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) market, while also catering to corporate travellers, families and weekend staycation guests.
The reopening and repositioning plans were highlighted during a media event held on Thursday. Both the hotel and the adjoining Glenmarie Golf & Country Club are owned by Tradewinds Corp Bhd, a corporate vehicle linked to Syed Mokhtar Albukhary.
The newly rebranded hotel features 261 guest rooms, including standard and deluxe rooms overlooking the golf course, as well as premium executive rooms equipped with duplex layouts and balcony options. To accommodate business groups and family travellers, 34 rooms offer connecting configurations for added flexibility and convenience.
As part of its expansion into the MICE segment, the hotel has introduced the new Cullinan Event Hall, designed with enhanced natural lighting and scenic golf course views. The facility also includes 13 flexible seminar rooms to support conferences, meetings and corporate functions. Overall, the hotel now offers a comprehensive range of event spaces comprising two ballrooms, including a main 556 sq m grand ballroom, mid-sized function halls, meeting rooms and boardroom-style facilities.
Hilton Shah Alam Glenmarie general manager Linda Reddy said the hotel is being positioned as an urban resort concept capable of serving different market segments. During weekdays, the property aims to provide a calmer and more productive environment for MICE events and business travellers, while weekends will focus on leisure staycations and resort-style experiences.
Strategically located in Glenmarie, the hotel is approximately 10 minutes from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport and about 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, enhancing its accessibility for both domestic and international visitors.
Hilton also revealed several upcoming hospitality developments in Malaysia, including Hilton Burau Bay Resort Langkawi and Hilton Garden Inn Kota Kinabalu Tuaran. The group’s luxury expansion pipeline further includes Conrad Kuala Lumpur and Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur, with the latter expected to officially launch in October this year.
The transformation of Hilton Shah Alam Glenmarie reflects the increasing demand for integrated hospitality destinations that combine resort-style experiences with business event capabilities, particularly within key urban corridors surrounding Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
