2026 Honda CR-V Facelift in Malaysia: Fewer Variants, More Tech and Dual Hybrid Line-Up

2026 Honda CR-V Facelift in Malaysia: Fewer Variants, More Tech and Dual Hybrid Line-Up

The 2026 Honda CR-V facelift in Malaysia, announced by Honda Malaysia, brings a minor update focused on features and variant restructuring, with no changes to the powertrain. One of the biggest highlights is the reduction of variants from four to three, as the Turbo S has been discontinued and the Turbo E has been replaced by the new e:HEV E hybrid, now serving as the entry-level variant priced at RM178,200. The line-up is completed by the V AWD Turbo (RM181,900) and the range-topping e:HEV RS (RM195,900), marking the first time a Honda model in Malaysia offers two hybrid variants in a single range.

On the outside, changes are minimal, with the only update being the introduction of a new Blazing Red Pearl colour, while the overall design remains unchanged. Inside, the update brings more noticeable improvements, as all variants now come with a 9-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with new Google built-in services that include Google Maps, Google Assistant, and access to apps via the Play Store.

The RS variant continues to stand out with a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, while the V AWD and RS now feature a larger 10.2-inch full digital instrument cluster.

In terms of technology, the CR-V gains a Digital Key feature, allowing owners to use their smartphone as a car key, as well as enhanced remote functions via the Honda Connect app.

Safety has also been improved, with the addition of Rear Cross Traffic Alert (CTM) and the replacement of the LaneWatch camera with Blind Spot Information (BSI) under the Honda Sensing suite. Additionally, all variants now come standard with Ecotint solar and security tint.

Despite these updates, the mechanical setup remains unchanged, with the hybrid variants powered by a 2.0L i-MMD system, combining a petrol engine and electric motor, while the V AWD continues to use the 1.5L VTEC turbo engine. Overall, the 2026 update strengthens the CR-V’s appeal with better technology, improved safety features, and a stronger focus on hybrid options in the Malaysian market.
