The Perodua Traz has strengthened its position in the B-segment SUV market after securing a five-star ASEAN NCAP rating under the 2021–2025 assessment protocol, with an overall score of 86.86 points. This result places the newly launched model among the safest vehicles in its category. In crash protection performance, the Traz delivered an impressive result with 30.86 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), reflecting strong structural integrity in collision tests. Child Occupant Protection (COP) also scored highly at 43.89 out of 51 points, while the Safety Assist (SA) category achieved 19.5 out of 21 points, highlighting a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems. For Motorcyclist Safety (MS), the Traz recorded 10 out of 16 points. Notably, the Traz outscored the Toyota Yaris Cross, its closely related counterpart, which achieved 83.02 points under the same NCAP protocol. However, it sits slightly below the Perodua QV-E EV, which posted a higher 88.36-point overall score, mainly due to stronger results in the Safety Assist category. As standard, the Perodua Traz is equipped with six airbags and the brand’s Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) system, including autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection. Additional safety features include lane departure warning and prevention, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and front and rear corner parking sensors. For variant differences, the H variant adds a 360-degree parking camera and a built-in dashcam, offering extra convenience for drivers. That said, cruise control and adaptive cruise control (ACC) are not available on any variant, which may be a drawback for some buyers. Overall, the Perodua Traz stands out as one of the safest B-SUVs in its segment, delivering strong crash test performance and comprehensive safety equipment, even without the inclusion of ACC.
