At Fx Motion Rehab, we believe lasting recovery comes from improving how your body moves — not just reducing pain. One of the most effective methods we use is the Resistance Band Flossing Technique, a powerful manual therapy and mobility tool that helps improve joint movement, reduce muscle tension, and enhance recovery after injury or training.
Resistance Band Flossing involves wrapping a special elastic band tightly around a specific joint or muscle group, then performing gentle movements or stretches. This controlled compression and decompression effect stimulates blood flow, improves tissue mobility, and helps “reset” the nervous system’s control over movement.
When the floss band is wrapped around a target area (like the shoulder, knee, or ankle), it creates temporary compression that restricts blood flow. Once the band is released, a rush of oxygenated blood flows back into the area — flushing out waste products, reducing swelling, and speeding up recovery.
During the session, gentle joint movements or active exercises are performed. This helps:
Break down scar tissue and adhesions
Improve joint capsule mobility
Reduce muscle stiffness
Restore pain-free movement
✅ Immediate improvement in joint range of motion
✅ Reduced muscle tightness and soreness
✅ Faster recovery after training or injury
✅ Enhanced blood flow and tissue healing
✅ Helps correct movement compensations
This technique is ideal for people who experience:
Shoulder or knee tightness
Limited range of motion after injury
Post-workout stiffness or soreness
Joint discomfort during training
Musculoskeletal restrictions due to poor mobility
At Fx Motion Rehab, our physiotherapists integrate floss band techniques with manual therapy and corrective exercises to maximize your results. Each session is customized to your condition and movement goals — ensuring you move better, recover faster, and stay stronger.
