Armani Group Launches Oakwood Cameron Highlands, Expanding Malaysia Hospitality Portfolio

PETALING JAYA (March 3) — Armani Group has officially unveiled Oakwood Cameron Highlands, a 383-key golf-front serviced residence operated by The Ascott Ltd. The opening strengthens the group’s position in Malaysia’s lifestyle and hospitality sector, particularly within the popular highland destination of Cameron Highlands.

Situated in Tanah Rata, the development occupies a prime hilltop site overlooking the Sultan Ahmad Shah Golf Club. Its elevated positioning provides sweeping views of the fairways and surrounding greenery, giving it a distinctive edge in the local accommodation market.

Designed for Extended Stays and Multi-Segment Demand

The project comprises 383 units, including deluxe rooms, studios and two-bedroom family suites measuring up to 90 sq m. Selected residences come with full kitchens, in-unit laundry facilities, dedicated workspaces and separate living areas — a layout tailored for extended stays and family travel.

This configuration allows the property to cater to golfers, leisure travellers and corporate groups seeking spacious accommodation in a cooler climate setting. The interior concept, themed “Whispers of the Highlands”, blends contemporary English-inspired design elements with subtle references to the agricultural heritage and temperate character of the highlands.

On-site facilities include Oakbistro, an all-day dining restaurant, and Oaklounge, which offers views of the golf course. Additional amenities such as a gymnasium, 24-hour reception, laundrette, WiFi connectivity and housekeeping services further position the development as a full-service serviced residence.

According to general manager Simon Yu, the scale of the project and its golf-front location create a differentiated hospitality product within the Cameron Highlands market, enabling it to serve multiple guest segments effectively.

To mark its debut, Oakwood Cameron Highlands is offering introductory rates starting from RM388+ per night for deluxe rooms.

Broader Property Market Perspective for KL and Selangor Investors

While the development is located in Pahang, the continued expansion of branded serviced residences in Malaysia reflects broader trends relevant to property investors in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Hospitality-linked real estate often complements demand for commercial property in KL, particularly in city-centre business districts where multinational corporations and regional offices operate. Executives travelling between highland retreats and corporate hubs contribute to steady occupancy patterns in both hospitality and office segments.

Similarly, business owners operating on industrial land in Selangor — including those managing a factory in Puchong or logistics hubs within industrial property in Subang area — frequently rely on integrated hospitality infrastructure to accommodate visiting partners and senior management.

As hybrid work models and regional mobility continue to evolve, developments that blend residential comfort with hotel-style services mirror the flexibility increasingly sought in office space in Bukit Jalil and other emerging commercial nodes across the Klang Valley.

For investors focused on industrial and office assets in KL and Selangor, the expansion of serviced residence brands signals sustained confidence in Malaysia’s broader business and travel ecosystem — an ecosystem that remains closely interconnected across hospitality, commercial and industrial property sectors.
