Just across the causeway from Singapore, we took our kids to the newly reopened Zoo Johor on a cool, cloudy weekend morning — let’s go!
Under 3 years old: Free
Children (under 12): RM5
Adults: RM10
Highly recommend arriving early, because the sun gets scorching around noon 🥵.
Arriving at 9AM and exploring until around 11AM is just perfect. The zoo isn’t too big.
If you arrive early, you can park along the road beside the zoo. You’ll see a line of cars — it’s a one-way street, just follow the flow! Malaysia boleh 😂
There are many staircases in the zoo. If you're bringing a stroller, you can leave it at the bottom and climb up to see:
🐯 Tigers, 🐻 Black bears, 🦁 Lions, Malayan tapirs, 🐮 Cows,
🐫 Camels, 🐍 Snakes, various birds, 🫎 Deer, 🦆 Ducks, 🐊 Crocodiles, 🦛 Hippos, 🐘 Elephants, 🐒 Monkeys, 🦚 Peacocks, and more!
⚠️ Feeding the animals is not allowed.
There are many stairs — strollers can be left by the side.
Bring an umbrella, hat, or portable fan for shade.
Pack some light snacks for the kids — only vending machines are available inside for drinks 🥤
There’s a big playground in the middle of the zoo, perfect for kids to play and parents to rest.
If it rains, you can buy disposable raincoats near the exit.
With some walking and resting along the way, the whole morning flies by — and it’s perfect timing for the little one to nap after 😝
