Sisk Appointed Main Contractor for Phase 3C of Battersea Power Station Regeneration Project

KUALA LUMPUR (June 25) — Construction firm Sisk has been appointed as the main contractor for Phase 3C of the Battersea Power Station redevelopment in London, marking a key milestone in the ongoing transformation of the 42-acre riverside site.

According to a statement issued on June 24, construction works for Phase 3C are scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026.

The appointment covers the delivery of two new buildings designed by Gehry Partners and will complete Electric Boulevard, a pedestrianised high street within the wider development.

Delivering Homes, Commercial Space and Community Facilities

Phase 3C forms part of the next stage of the Battersea Power Station regeneration and will add a mix of residential, commercial and community components.

The planned development includes:

Approximately 300 new residential units

65,000 sq ft of retail, café and restaurant space

A 15,000 sq ft community hub

A 600-space bicycle parking facility

Construction of the phase is also expected to generate around 400 jobs, with a target that 20% of the workforce will be sourced locally from the Borough of Wandsworth.

Completing Electric Boulevard

Battersea Power Station Development Company chief executive officer James Saunders said Phase 3C will complete Electric Boulevard, a key pedestrian corridor within the development that continues to attract new retail brands, office tenants and residential activity.

The area also benefits from improved transport connectivity, including a new entrance to the Zone 1 Underground station opened recently, further strengthening access to central London.

Focus on Modern Construction Methods

Sisk’s chief operating officer for Ireland and the UK, Steven McGee, said the company will apply its expertise in modern construction methods, off-site manufacturing and large-scale project delivery to ensure efficient and sustainable execution of the project.

The contractor will work closely with the developer and local stakeholders to support long-term sustainability and community impact in the area.

Part of a Larger Malaysian-Backed Regeneration Project

The Battersea Power Station redevelopment is part of a major 42-acre master plan owned by a consortium of Malaysian shareholders, including Sime Darby Property Bhd, S P Setia Bhd, and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Malaysia.

Since opening to the public in 2022, the landmark development centred around the Grade II listed Battersea Power Station has attracted more than 40 million visitors, establishing itself as one of London’s major mixed-use destinations.
