Kitacon Secures RM89 Million Construction Project in Gombak, Strengthening Development Activity in Selangor

Construction activity across Selangor continues to gain momentum as developers push forward with new residential and commercial projects across the Klang Valley. This growth also supports the wider property ecosystem, including demand for industrial land in Selangor, factory developments in Puchong, commercial property in KL, and industrial property in the Subang area, as infrastructure and population expansion drive business activity.

Recently, Kumpulan Kitacon Bhd announced that it has secured a new construction contract worth RM89 million for a residential development project located in Gombak, Selangor.

Details of the Construction Contract

The contract was awarded by Rawang Lakes Sdn Bhd to Kitacon’s wholly owned subsidiary, Kitacon Sdn Bhd. The project involves the construction and completion of multiple residential components within the development.

The project will be carried out in two phases:

Phase 6A

  • Construction of 140 double-storey terrace houses

  • A guardhouse

  • A Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) substation

  • A two-storey clubhouse

Phase 6B

  • Development of 118 additional double-storey terrace houses

Together, the project will add a total of 258 terrace homes to the growing residential community in the Gombak area.

Project Timeline

Construction is scheduled to begin on March 16, with an expected completion timeline of approximately 20 months.

According to the company, the contract will contribute positively to the group’s financial performance, particularly in terms of earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026, and will continue supporting revenue until the project reaches completion.

First Contract Win for 2026

This project represents Kitacon’s first construction contract secured in 2026, marking a positive start for the group as construction demand continues across the Klang Valley.

Growth in residential townships around Selangor often creates spillover demand for supporting real estate sectors such as:

  • Industrial land in Selangor for logistics and light manufacturing

  • Factory space in Puchong supporting supply chains and SMEs

  • Industrial property in the Subang area which remains one of the Klang Valley’s most active industrial corridors

  • Office space in Bukit Jalil and other emerging commercial hubs

As residential populations increase, so does the need for nearby employment centres, logistics facilities, and supporting commercial developments.

Market Position

Ahead of the announcement, shares of Kumpulan Kitacon Bhd were trading at 70 sen, giving the construction firm a market capitalisation of approximately RM350.2 million.

The company remains active in the construction sector, supporting both residential and mixed development projects across Selangor and the greater Kuala Lumpur region.

Outlook for the Klang Valley Property Market

The Klang Valley property market continues to benefit from ongoing development across residential, commercial, and industrial segments. Areas such as Gombak, Rawang, Subang, Puchong, and Bukit Jalil are seeing increasing investment due to improved infrastructure and connectivity.

For investors and businesses exploring commercial property in KL, industrial land in Selangor, or factory opportunities in Puchong, these development trends signal continued economic expansion and growing real estate opportunities across the region.
