Omoda Jaecoo to Preview New C7 SUVs at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2026
Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has been announced as the Official Automotive Partner of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2026, which will be held from August 3 to 9 at the Esplanade, KLCC Park. As part of the event, the company will also give the public an early look at the upcoming Omoda C7 and Omoda C7 PHEV before their official launch in Malaysia.
Although the Omoda C7 was previously displayed during the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, that model was a left-hand-drive (LHD) version. KLFW 2026 will be the first time Malaysians can see the right-hand-drive (RHD) version, which is the one that will be sold locally.
The Omoda C7 is a C-segment SUV that sits close to the Jaecoo J7 in terms of size, making it larger than the Chery O5 but smaller than the Omoda C9.
On the outside, the SUV features Omoda’s latest "Art in Motion" design with a bold front end, slim LED headlights, a body-coloured grille and a unique illuminated hexagonal lighting signature. It also rides on stylish 20-inch alloy wheels, giving it a sporty and modern appearance.
Inside, the Omoda C7 comes with a 15.6-inch infotainment screen that can slide towards the front passenger, along with a 50W wireless phone charger. Based on the preview model shown earlier, the SUV is also expected to include a slim digital instrument display, physical control buttons on the centre console, a head-up display, a Sony audio system and ambient lighting.
Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia confirmed that the C7 will be available with two powertrain choices. Buyers can choose a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) or a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model that combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).
While official performance figures have not been revealed, the powertrains are expected to be similar to those found in the Jaecoo J7. The petrol-powered J7 produces 197 hp and 290 Nm of torque, while the J7 PHEV delivers a combined 360 hp and 530 Nm, together with an 18.3-kWh BYD Blade LFP battery that offers up to 95 km of electric driving range and a claimed 1,250 km combined range.
Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia Marketing Director Jackie Chua said the partnership with Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week reflects the brand’s focus on modern design, technology and innovation. He added that the collaboration helps position Omoda and Jaecoo as premium brands that appeal to customers looking for both style and advanced automotive technology.
Besides showcasing its latest SUVs, Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia will also introduce a special collaboration with BEHATI, a Malaysian fashion brand known for combining traditional local clothing with modern streetwear designs.
