PETALING JAYA (May 29): Golden Village Properties (GVP) has officially completed Residensi Pauh Harmoni, an affordable housing development in Seberang Perai Tengah, Penang, with a key handover ceremony held on April 26.
The project was developed under the Rumah MutiaraKu (RMKu) Type C affordable housing scheme in collaboration with the Lembaga Perumahan Negeri Pulau Pinang (LPNPP).
Residensi Pauh Harmoni marks GVP’s first high-rise residential project in Seberang Perai and represents an important milestone in the company’s expansion into affordable housing developments. According to GVP, the project was completed on schedule.
The development features a seven-storey residential block with 112 units ranging from 800 sq ft to 900 sq ft. Each unit comes with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, designed to provide comfortable living spaces with good natural lighting and ventilation.
Residents will also enjoy facilities such as a swimming pool, gymnasium, playground, multipurpose hall and a multi-tier security system.
The key handover ceremony was officiated by Penang State Executive Councillor for Housing and Environment Datuk Seri Sundarajoo Somu, who reiterated the state government’s commitment to providing more affordable and quality homes for B40 and M40 families.
GVP deputy managing director Eugene Fong Chuen said the successful completion of the project reflected strong collaboration among government agencies, local authorities, contractors, consultants, financial institutions, property agencies and the local community.
He added that the project was not only about delivering homes, but also about building a sustainable and harmonious community for residents, especially first-time homebuyers.
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, GVP also carried out infrastructure upgrades in the surrounding area, including road improvement and resurfacing works to improve accessibility, comfort and safety for residents and nearby communities.
During the ceremony, keys were symbolically handed over to 30 homeowners, marking the beginning of homeownership for many families.
GVP reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality developments that address housing needs while contributing positively to the community and environment.
What I Learned
This project highlights the growing importance of affordable housing developments in Penang, especially for B40 and M40 income groups seeking quality homes with modern facilities. I also learned that developers are increasingly focusing not only on residential buildings, but also on community development through infrastructure improvements and sustainable living environments. In addition, strategic collaborations between private developers and government housing agencies play a key role in ensuring affordable housing projects are successfully delivered on schedule.
