FAQ

1) What is an aircond system audit and why does my building need one?
  • An aircond system audit is a comprehensive technical assessment of your entire cooling infrastructure — covering equipment condition, energy consumption, refrigerant integrity, airflow performance, control systems and compliance. It produces a written report with findings and recommendations. Buildings typically need a system audit when energy bills are rising without explanation, when planning a major renovation, when preparing for ISO 14001 certification, when taking over management of a building, or when existing systems are over 7 years old. Sunmoon Aircond provides full written audit reports suitable for submission to building management, auditors and regulatory bodies.

2) What is VRF/VRV aircond and is it suitable for my building?

  • VRF stands for Variable Refrigerant Flow; VRV is Daikin’s trademarked version of the same technology. Both describe a system where one or more outdoor condensing units supply refrigerant to multiple indoor units at precisely variable rates — allowing each zone to be cooled or heated independently at different temperatures simultaneously. VRF/VRV systems are highly energy efficient, require less ceiling space than ducted systems and offer individual room control. They are ideal for medium to large commercial buildings, hotels, and mixed-use developments with varying occupancy patterns. They are generally not cost-effective for small offices or residential properties.
