These are not proof that employees are safe.

Excessive noise can damage hearing gradually. By the time an employee notices the problem, the damage may already be permanent.

🚨 HAS YOUR NRA EXPIRED?

Under Malaysia’s Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2019, a Noise Risk Assessment must be reviewed no later than five years after the previous assessment.

A review is also required when there are significant changes involving machinery, equipment, processes, work activities or noise-control measures or when directed by DOSH/JKKP.

Your company may need an NRA review if:

⚠️ The previous NRA is over five years old
⚠️ New machinery has been installed
⚠️ Production processes or layouts have changed
⚠️ Employees must shout to communicate
⚠️ Earplugs are provided without proper assessment
⚠️ Audiometric results indicate possible hearing changes
⚠️ No one knows exactly who is exposed

Simply providing earplugs is not enough.

A proper Noise Risk Assessment identifies:

✅ Where excessive noise comes from
✅ Which employees are exposed
✅ Employees’ actual daily noise exposure
✅ Whether existing controls are effective
✅ Whether the hearing protectors are suitable
✅ What actions the employer should take next
