Impact Agroscience International Durian Knowledge Sharing Event

On 16–17 June 2026, Impact Agroscience Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Olmix Plant Care, successfully hosted an international durian knowledge-sharing event at Green Crest Durian Farm, Malaysia. The two-day program brought together durian growers, agricultural professionals, researchers, distributors, and industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and explore innovative solutions for sustainable durian production.

Held under the theme "Learn • Share • Grow Together", the event focused on delivering practical and science-based insights to help growers improve tree health, fruit quality, productivity, and long-term orchard sustainability.

The event featured two distinguished international speakers who shared their expertise and practical experience in tropical fruit production, plant nutrition, and sustainable agriculture.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Long (Technical Manager of Plant Care – South East Asia, Olmix Group)
Mr. Long presented on plant nutrition, biostimulant technologies, sustainable crop management, and soil health enhancement. His sessions highlighted innovative approaches that help growers improve nutrient efficiency, strengthen tree resilience, and optimize orchard performance while promoting environmentally responsible farming practices.

Dr. Nguyen Viet Thanh (Doctor of Plant Physiology, Southern Horticultural Research Institute, Vietnam)
Dr. Thanh shared valuable research findings and practical insights into tropical fruit physiology, including flowering and fruiting mechanisms, nutrient management strategies, fruit quality improvement, and the latest developments in horticultural science.

Throughout the seminar sessions, participants gained a deeper understanding of key topics including:

  • Plant nutrition and nutrient-use efficiency
  • Biostimulants and their role in crop performance
  • Soil health management and sustainability
  • Flowering and fruiting physiology in durian
  • Fruit quality enhancement strategies
  • Modern orchard management practices
  • Improving productivity and profitability through science-based farming
The interactive discussions encouraged growers to exchange experiences, discuss production challenges, and explore practical solutions that can be implemented in their own orchards.

Green Crest Durian Farm: A Proven Pilot Farm Success
A key highlight of the event was the visit to Green Crest Durian Farm, which serves as an Impact Agroscience Pilot Farm.
Since September 2025, the farm has been implementing Impact Agroscience's integrated crop nutrition and crop management program, incorporating advanced plant nutrition strategies, soil health enhancement practices, and biostimulant technologies. Through consistent application and close technical support, the farm has achieved significant improvements in orchard performance.

During the field visit, participants had the opportunity to observe firsthand the progress and results achieved through the program. The farm demonstrated how a science-based approach to orchard management can translate into healthier trees, stronger growth, and improved productivity.
Some of the key improvements observed include:
  • Enhanced tree vigor and canopy development
  • Improved root growth and nutrient uptake efficiency
  • Better flowering and fruit-setting performance
  • Improved fruit development and quality
  • Greater resilience against environmental stress
  • Healthier soil conditions supporting long-term productivity
The success of Green Crest Durian Farm serves as a practical example of how integrated nutrition and crop management strategies can help growers maximize orchard potential while maintaining sustainable farming practices.

Participants were guided through the orchard to observe various aspects of durian cultivation and discuss real-world production challenges directly in the field. The field demonstration covered topics such as:
  • Tree health assessment
  • Canopy management
  • Nutrient management programs
  • Soil condition evaluation
  • Root system development
  • Fruit development and quality assessment

The hands-on experience enabled participants to connect scientific knowledge shared during the seminar sessions with practical orchard applications, providing valuable insights for improving farm performance and profitability.

The event demonstrated the importance of collaboration between growers, researchers, technical specialists, and industry partners in advancing the durian industry. Through the partnership between Impact Agroscience Sdn Bhd and Olmix Plant Care, participants gained access to international expertise and the latest developments in plant nutrition, biostimulants, and sustainable agricultural technologies. Such collaborations play an important role in supporting growers with practical solutions that address both current and future challenges in durian production.

Impact Agroscience Sdn Bhd would like to express its sincere appreciation to all speakers, growers, customers, partners, and participants who contributed to the success of this event. As the durian industry continues to evolve, initiatives such as this play a vital role in promoting knowledge exchange, encouraging innovation, and supporting growers in producing healthier trees, higher yields, and premium-quality fruit. By combining scientific knowledge, field experience, and industry collaboration, we can continue building a stronger, more sustainable, and more profitable future for the durian industry.
