Proton Introduces New eMas 7 Premium Plus at KLIMS 2026
Proton has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with the launch of the new eMas 7 Premium Plus at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026. The new variant is now the flagship model in the eMas 7 range and joins the existing Prime and Premium variants. All eMas 7 models are locally assembled (CKD) in Tanjong Malim.
Following the launch, the eMas 7 lineup now consists of three variants with special introductory prices that include a RM7,000 rebate:
eMas 7 Prime – RM96,800
eMas 7 Premium – RM112,800
eMas 7 Premium Plus – RM118,800
One of the biggest differences between the three variants is battery size and driving range. The entry-level Prime comes with a 49.52 kWh battery and offers up to 345 km WLTP range. The Premium variant increases battery capacity to 60.22 kWh, extending the range to 410 km WLTP.
Meanwhile, the new Premium Plus features a larger 68.39 kWh battery that delivers up to 450 km WLTP range, making it the longest-range model in the eMas 7 lineup.
All three variants use the same 218 PS and 320 Nm front-mounted electric motor. However, acceleration figures differ due to the different vehicle weights.
Prime: 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds
Premium: 0-100 km/h in 7.1 seconds
Premium Plus: 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds
The Premium Plus is slightly slower because the larger battery pack increases the vehicle's weight.
Charging performance has also been improved on the new flagship model. The Prime supports up to 80 kW DC fast charging, while the Premium Plus supports up to 115 kW DC fast charging. Despite having a larger battery, the Premium Plus can charge from 30% to 80% in around 20 minutes when connected to a compatible DC fast charger. Using an 11 kW AC home charger, a full charge from 10% to 100% takes approximately 6.7 hours.
Inside the cabin, each variant offers a different level of equipment. The Prime comes with a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and a six-speaker audio system.
The Premium adds more comfort and technology features, including a Head-Up Display (HUD), ventilated front seats, and a 16-speaker Flyme sound system. At the top of the range, the Premium Plus focuses on luxury and comfort. It comes with a front passenger leg rest and massage functions for both front seats, providing a more premium driving and passenger experience.
With the introduction of the eMas 7 Premium Plus, Proton now offers buyers more options with longer driving range, faster charging, and enhanced comfort features.
