Proton eMas 7 Premium Plus Debuts In Malaysia With Bigger Battery And 450 km WLTP Range
🚗 Proton has expanded its eMas 7 electric SUV line-up in Malaysia with a new range-topping Premium Plus variant, priced at RM118,800 on the road. The headline upgrade is a larger 68.39 kWh battery pack, lifting the quoted WLTP driving range to 450 km compared with 410 km for the existing Premium variant. The model is locally assembled at Proton's dedicated EV plant in Tanjong Malim, keeping the national carmaker's electric push closely tied to its Malaysian manufacturing base.
🔋 The Premium Plus keeps the familiar front-mounted electric motor with 218 PS and 320 Nm, but the bigger battery makes the SUV slightly heavier and raises its 0-100 km/h time to 7.4 seconds. DC fast charging is rated at up to 115 kW, with Proton still quoting a 30-80% charge time of around 20 minutes, while AC charging remains at 11 kW. Launch incentives include a trade-in rebate, a complimentary 7 kW home charger, a V2L adapter, a five-year unlimited data plan and a tonneau cover.
📈 Beyond range, Proton is using the Premium Plus to strengthen the eMas 7's equipment story. New comfort features include front-seat massage functions and extra passenger-seat convenience, while the variant also carries higher-end items such as a 16-speaker audio system, head-up display and a wide ADAS suite. For Malaysian EV shoppers, the launch gives the eMas 7 a clearer long-range option below many imported rivals, and it shows how quickly national brands are moving into better-equipped electric SUVs.
