Framework Delays First Laptop 13 Pro Shipments Over Touchpad And Display Fixes
💻 Framework has delayed the first shipments of its new Laptop 13 Pro by about a month, moving the earliest batch from late June to late July. Some early units could slip into August, while later batches may move further into August or even early September. The company told preorder customers that the delay is tied to two late-stage production issues involving the haptic touchpad and the custom display.
🛠️ The touchpad problem was traced to an electrical grounding issue in the circuit board design that could cause resets after repeated clicks. Framework worked with suppliers Lite-On and Boréas on a redesigned board and is validating the new modules before mass production. Separately, the custom display had a firmware-related initialization bug, and supplier CSOT is preparing an updated firmware expected to fit the same revised schedule.
📦 Framework says orders that do not include the affected touchpad or display components, including new Intel Core Ultra Series 3 mainboards, are still scheduled to ship on time. Customers who no longer want to wait can cancel for a full deposit refund. The delay also pushes full Laptop 13 Pro reviews into July, which may matter for buyers considering whether to keep a preorder or evaluate the new modular flagship against premium laptops.
