China Jiangsu Service Trade Expo 2026 Officially Opens in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 — Under the theme “Sharing Services, Sowing Successes,” the China Jiangsu Service Trade Expo (Malaysia) 2026 officially opened this morning at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

Spanning an exhibition area of approximately 3,000 square meters, the expo features over 70 premier enterprises and institutions across key sectors, including digital trade, cultural specialties, legal services, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

A dynamic lineup of concurrent events—such as the Digital Trade Matchmaking Conference and live intangible cultural heritage performances—is set to help businesses tap into international markets while deepening bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Now in its fourth consecutive year in Malaysia, the expo has built a reputation for its robust organizational framework, innovative exhibition formats, and high-impact activities.

Over its history, the event has attracted nearly 10,000 international professional buyers, offering a comprehensive look at Jiangsu’s latest breakthroughs in the service trade sector.

The opening ceremony was graced by distinguished leaders who delivered keynote addresses, including Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications of Malaysia; Sun Shuqiang, Minister Counsellor for the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of China in Malaysia; and Jiang Xin, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province.

At the heart of the expo, digital trade enterprises—a key driver of Jiangsu’s high-quality economic growth—showcased cutting-edge digital solutions centred on the “Intelligent Manufacturing in Jiangsu” initiative.

In the cultural specialties zone, intangible cultural heritage crafts, such as Suzhou embroidery and nut carving, were displayed alongside cultural and creative IPs, anime derivatives, and modern creative designs, fully reflecting the profound heritage of Jiangsu as a major cultural province.

The cultural and tourism integration zone vividly told the story of Jiangsu through the “cuisine + scenery” narrative. Moreover, as a distinctive strength of Jiangsu’s service trade, the traditional Chinese medicine zone offered visitors an immersive experience of the modern application of the “four diagnostic methods” — inspection, auscultation, interrogation and palpation.

Meanwhile, modern service industries, such as legal and intellectual property services, international education, and international business services, were actively going global, providing a solid support system for the international operations of enterprises with their professional soft power.

The successful hosting of this expo establishes a vital bridge linking Jiangsu’s service trade with Belt and Road markets. By elevating the international profile of “Jiangsu Service,” the event significantly deepens economic, trade, and cultural ties between China and Malaysia, charting a new path toward mutual benefit and shared prosperity.
