SEBERANG JAYA (Jan 29): SkyWorld Development Bhd has officially made its entry into northern Malaysia with the opening of its first sales gallery in Penang, marking a strategic milestone in the group’s nationwide expansion plans.
Situated in Seberang Jaya, the newly launched SkyWorld Gallery @ Seberang Jaya goes beyond a conventional showroom. The facility also houses the developer’s Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) Experience Centre and a Satellite Quality Centre, offering visitors a closer look at SkyWorld’s industrialised building systems and quality assurance processes.
Members of the Penang media were invited to the launch event, where they toured the gallery facilities and previewed a show unit for the upcoming SkyWorld Pearlmont development, the company’s flagship project in the state.
SkyWorld chief executive officer Lee Chee Seng said the gallery represents a key step in the company’s expansion beyond the Klang Valley, allowing the group to introduce its construction innovations to a broader market.
By bringing its PPVC Experience Centre and quality management showcase to Penang, SkyWorld aims to enhance transparency and elevate buyer confidence in construction standards and delivery quality, Lee added.
Designed as an engagement and learning hub, the gallery provides insights into SkyWorld’s modular construction approach, which mirrors industrial best practices commonly seen in factory developments in Puchong and large-scale projects on industrial land in Selangor, where efficiency, consistency, and quality control are critical.
The PPVC Experience Centre highlights a construction methodology that uses factory-finished modules assembled on-site, reducing site disruption while improving build speed and precision. Complementing this, the Satellite Quality Centre outlines the group’s comprehensive quality control framework, including its Inspection and Test Plan covering civil, structural, and architectural works.
SkyWorld’s expansion into Penang is anchored by SkyWorld Pearlmont, a 34-acre freehold integrated development in Seberang Jaya, undertaken under the Rumah Bakat Madani initiative. To date, more than 80% of the 1,166 residential units under Phase 1A have been sold, reflecting strong market response.
SkyWorld Pearlmont is positioned as Malaysia’s first large-scale residential project built using PPVC technology and introduces the country’s first vertical school concept. Key features include a 10-acre elevated SkyPark, integrated retail components, a targeted minimum 85% QLASSIC score, a 10-year leak-proof warranty, and a fixed maintenance fee of RM0.18 per sq ft for 10 years.
While SkyWorld Pearlmont is located in Penang, the group’s emphasis on industrialised construction and integrated planning reflects broader development trends in commercial property in KL, office space in Bukit Jalil, and industrial property in the Subang area, where developers increasingly prioritise efficiency, sustainability, and long-term asset performance.
