LRT3 Shah Alam Line to Begin Operations on June 29, Boosting Connectivity Across Klang Valley Western Corridor

KUALA LUMPUR (June 22): The Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) line, which connects Shah Alam and surrounding areas in Selangor, will officially begin operations next Monday, June 29.


Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that the launch ceremony will be held this Sunday and officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Following the ceremony, train services will commence operations immediately the next day.


The LRT3 line spans 37.8km, running from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia, and is expected to benefit approximately two million residents.


According to the Transport Ministry, the new rail line is designed to improve connectivity across the western corridor of the Klang Valley, serving key residential, commercial, and industrial areas along its route.


The project is expected to enhance public transportation access and reduce travel time for commuters, while supporting broader urban mobility and regional development goals.
