Perodua has announced a new pricing structure for the QV-E EV following major localisation efforts that have improved production efficiency and reduced costs.
Previously, the QV-E was launched at RM80,000 (excluding the battery), with customers paying RM275 per month under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme. Under the revised pricing, customers can now choose to own the vehicle and battery outright for RM93,999, or purchase the vehicle for RM69,999 with a reduced BaaS fee of RM215 per month for nine years.
To make the EV even more affordable, Perodua is offering a limited-time RM6,500 rebate until September 30, 2026. With this promotion, the QV-E is priced at RM87,499 for full ownership or RM63,499 with the BaaS package, while the monthly battery fee remains at RM215.
Existing QV-E owners will also benefit from the update. Their monthly BaaS payment will be reduced from RM275 to RM215, starting from their next billing cycle. Perodua will also provide a special refund, and customers will be contacted by their sales advisors soon.
According to Perodua President and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, the BaaS programme is designed to give customers peace of mind, as Perodua will manage and support the battery throughout the nine-year leasing period. Customers who choose full ownership will also have the option to sell their battery back to Perodua when it reaches the end of its service life.
The battery under the BaaS programme comes with unlimited mileage coverage and a guaranteed minimum 70% battery health (SoH) throughout the leasing period. For customers who buy the battery outright, it is covered by an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty, with the same 70% minimum SoH guarantee.
Perodua said the increased use of locally made parts has helped improve efficiency, reduce reliance on foreign suppliers, and strengthen the local supply chain. The company has also increased QV-E production to more than 500 units per month.
With more parts now being produced locally, Perodua believes it can provide better spare parts availability, especially for body components, ensuring customers have easier access to replacement parts when needed.
