Malaysia Emerges as Top Winner at FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2026 With 13 Medals
PETALING JAYA (June 12): Malaysia has emerged as the biggest winner at the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2026 held in Vienna, Austria, with local developers securing a total of seven gold and six silver awards across multiple property categories, according to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).
The ministry said the achievement brings Malaysia’s total historical gold medal count to 46 at the international real estate awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of Real Estate”, highlighting the competitiveness of the country’s property development sector on the global stage.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said the strong performance demonstrates Malaysia’s ability to deliver sustainable, high-quality developments and liveable communities that meet international standards.
He added that the success reflects the impact of ongoing housing and regulatory reforms introduced by the ministry, including initiatives such as the Housing Integrated Management System (HIMS), TEDUH, electronic sale and purchase agreements (eSPA), and mandatory audits of the Housing Development Account (HDA).
Nga said these reforms under the MADANI framework have begun to produce positive outcomes, strengthening governance and improving transparency in the property development sector.
He also emphasised that the achievement is not only a success for developers but also a national milestone, showcasing Malaysia’s capability in producing globally competitive real estate projects.
The minister encouraged industry players to build on this recognition to further elevate development standards and expand access to quality housing for Malaysians.
He added that collaboration between government policies and private sector innovation will continue to play a key role in building more sustainable and liveable communities.
Among the gold award winners were Elmina Lakeside Mall by Sime Darby Property Bhd, Sunway Velocity TWO (Phase 1) by Sunway Property Bhd, Park Regent @ Desa ParkCity by ParkCity Group, Nouvelle Industrial Park @ Kota Puteri by EXSIM Group, SkyAwani by SkyWorld Development Bhd, and Merdeka 118 by PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd, which received a double gold recognition in the office and sustainable development category.
