In clinical practice, we often encounter patients who struggle with mobility after a stroke.
This is not only a physical limitation, but also something that deeply affects a person’s confidence and quality of life.
Today, I would like to share a real recovery case.
When this patient first came for consultation:
👉 He had difficulty moving and relied on a wheelchair
👉 His lower limbs were weak and he was unable to walk
👉 Daily activities required assistance
This is a typical presentation of post-stroke complications.
⸻
After assessing his condition and body constitution,
a treatment plan focused on acupuncture was carried out, aiming to improve circulation of Qi and Blood and to unblock the meridians.
Rather than chasing fast results,
the focus was on gradual and steady recovery.
👉 First few sessions: slight response, muscles began to regain strength
👉 Mid stage: able to stand and walk with assistance
👉 After around 10 sessions: clear improvement observed
⸻
After about ten acupuncture sessions, the patient showed significant progress:
✔ Able to walk independently (no longer relying on a wheelchair)
✔ Able to perform simple squatting movements
✔ Able to lift his legs actively
✔ Overall mobility improved noticeably
Although he has not fully regained complete flexibility,
he has progressed from “unable to walk” to “able to move independently” —
a very important milestone in recovery.
⸻
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective,
post-stroke conditions are often related to poor circulation of Qi and Blood and blockage in the meridians.
Acupuncture works by:
👉 Promoting circulation
👉 Unblocking meridians
👉 Stimulating the body’s natural healing ability
Recovery is not instant —
it is a gradual process.
⸻
Many people wonder:
“Can this kind of condition still improve?”
The answer is:
👉 As long as the body can respond, there is still room for recovery.
Every individual heals at a different pace,
but with the right approach and consistency,
the body can surprise you.
