ARCHIDEX 2026 Targets Bigger Deals as KL’s Built Environment Sector Gains Momentum

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 14) — The 25th edition of the International Architecture, Interior Design and Building Exhibition (ARCHIDEX 2026) is setting its sights on exceeding the RM1.4 billion in business transactions recorded last year, reflecting growing confidence in Malaysia’s construction, design, and property-related industries.

Scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 1, 2026, the exhibition will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) along Jalan Dutamas 2, reinforcing Kuala Lumpur’s role as a regional hub for architecture, development, and commercial property activity in KL and Selangor.

At the soft launch on Tuesday (Jan 13), C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd project director Jason Lim said the organisers are aiming for stronger deal flow this year, driven by healthier economic conditions and increased collaboration across the built environment ecosystem. He noted that higher transaction value would signal renewed momentum across construction, development, and real estate sectors.

Expanded Scale and International Participation

ARCHIDEX 2026 will be jointly organised by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, forming part of the broader Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF). This year’s exhibition will also coincide with the inaugural Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week, further amplifying its regional profile.

The exhibition footprint will expand to 37,000 sq m, representing nearly a 20% increase from the previous year. Organisers expect close to 900 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, alongside an estimated 40,000 visitors, including architects, developers, investors, and decision-makers involved in industrial land in Selangor, commercial property in KL, and large-scale developments across growth corridors such as Puchong, Subang, and Bukit Jalil.

“The Bold Future” of Architecture and Development

PAM president Adrianta Aziz highlighted that ARCHIDEX 2026 will centre on the theme “The Bold Future”, encouraging architects and industry players to rethink design, technology, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

He added that initiatives like Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week demonstrate how architecture can revitalise heritage districts, enhance public spaces, and create meaningful human-centric environments — elements that increasingly influence the value and positioning of office space in Bukit Jalil, integrated commercial developments in KL, and mixed-use projects across Selangor.

Four Key Exhibition Zones

ARCHIDEX 2026 will be organised into four dedicated thematic zones:

  • Digital @ ARCHIDEX — showcasing BIM, AI-powered design tools, smart building systems, and proptech innovations shaping future-ready offices and industrial facilities.

  • A Hospitality Anthology — focusing on design concepts and operational innovations in Asia-Pacific’s luxury and lifestyle hospitality sector.

  • World of Works — a real-scale office simulation exploring how workplace design is evolving to support productivity and sustainability.

  • ASEAN Fenestration and Technology Exhibition — featuring energy-efficient windows, doors, glass systems, and façade technologies critical to sustainable industrial property in Subang area and factory developments in Puchong.

In addition, the event will host conferences, industry forums, and networking sessions aimed at fostering partnerships and investment opportunities across the construction and real estate value chain.

Architecture Week Extends Beyond the Exhibition

Beyond the exhibition halls, Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week (KLAW) 2026 will extend into the city, with curated tours spanning KL’s historic core to Petaling Street. Key landmarks include Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, Medan Pasar, the River of Life, and panoramic views of Merdeka 118, showcasing how heritage and modern development coexist within Kuala Lumpur’s urban fabric.

As Malaysia’s built environment sector continues to evolve, ARCHIDEX 2026 is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping future developments — from innovative office space in Bukit Jalil to sustainable industrial land in Selangor and next-generation commercial property in KL.
