Jetour T1 Launch Marks New Phase in Malaysia Expansion

Jetour Malaysia officially launched the 2026 Jetour T1 yesterday, introducing a rugged C-segment SUV that combines everyday practicality with off-road-inspired styling. The launch also coincided with the company's announcement to strengthen Malaysia's role as its regional export and Asia-Pacific (APAC) R&D hub.

The Jetour T1 is offered in two locally assembled (CKD) variants:
  • 1.5L TGDi 2WDRM129,800
  • 2.0L TGDi XWD (AWD)RM146,800 (prices exclude registration, road tax and insurance).

The entry-level 1.5L TGDi variant produces 170 PS and 270 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) driving the front wheels. Buyers seeking more capability can opt for the 2.0L TGDi XWD, which delivers 245 PS and 375 Nm with an all-wheel-drive system and multiple terrain drive modes.

In terms of equipment, the T1 comes with a modern cabin featuring a large infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), wireless smartphone connectivity and a spacious five-seat interior. The flagship XWD variant further adds a 15.6-inch touchscreen, Sony nine-speaker audio system, panoramic sunroof, powered front seats and memory function for the driver's seat.

Alongside the T1's introduction, Jetour reiterated its RM841 million investment in Malaysia, which covers manufacturing, research and development, and network expansion. The company also plans to use Malaysia as a regional export base, with initial exports to Brunei and South Africa, before expanding to markets including Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam and Mexico.
