NII FLOOR JOURNAL
SPC flooring is a popular option for Malaysian home and commercial renovations, but choosing the right product involves more than comparing colours. Before you buy, check the room, subfloor, thickness, installation plan and aftercare requirements.

Bedrooms, living rooms, home offices, retail spaces and offices do not all have the same requirements. Note the room’s daily use, furniture load, cleaning routine and exposure to moisture before comparing products.
For wet areas or locations with unusual site conditions, ask the supplier whether the selected SPC series is suitable. Do not assume that every product in the SPC category has identical performance.
NII Floor’s Facebook product material has shown SPC flooring options in 4mm, 4.5mm and 6mm. Thickness is one useful comparison point, but it should be considered together with the product construction, underlay or accessories, subfloor and intended use.
A thicker option is not automatically the correct option for every room. Ask what the supplier recommends for your actual site rather than choosing from thickness alone.
The finished result depends on the surface underneath. Before installation, check whether the existing floor is level, clean, stable and free from damaged areas that require repair.
SPC flooring is available in wood-look and other contemporary finishes. Compare physical samples with your wall panels, doors, furniture and natural light. A sample that looks warm in a showroom may look different in a bright living room or under cool artificial lighting.
Find out which installation method, trims, profiles, underlay or finishing accessories are needed for the selected product. Also confirm how the flooring will meet existing tiles, bathrooms, cabinets and stairs.
NII Floor lists installation, on-site consultation, advisory and flooring supply among its services. A site discussion can help identify practical details before materials are ordered.
Ask for care instructions that match the selected series. Useful questions include which cleaning products are suitable, how spills should be handled, whether excess water should be avoided and how furniture should be protected.
A useful quotation should consider the room area, cutting allowance, trims, accessories, delivery and installation scope. Send the supplier your approximate measurements, room photos and preferred design so the discussion starts with the real project requirements.

Not necessarily. Thickness should be considered with the construction, room usage, subfloor and installation requirements of the selected product.
It may be considered for different indoor areas, but suitability should be confirmed for each room and product series, especially where moisture or unusual site conditions are involved.
Send room dimensions, photos of the existing floor, intended room usage, preferred colour direction and installation location. This helps the supplier give more relevant advice.

Planning note: Final product suitability, performance, installation method and maintenance requirements should be confirmed for the selected SPC series and actual site condition before purchase.
