US-based data center equipment manufacturer Vertiv Holdings Co. has opened its first manufacturing facility in Southeast Asia, strengthening its regional presence amid accelerating investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure. Located in Johor, Malaysia, just north of Singapore, the new plant will manufacture power and cooling systems for data centers serving customers across Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
The facility is expected to be fully operational in 2027 and will produce critical infrastructure solutions, including power distribution units and liquid-cooling systems, that support the growing demand for AI computing and high-performance data centers.
Commenting on the expansion, Vertiv Chief Executive OfficerGiordano Albertazzisaid Asia remains one of the world's fastest-growing regions for AI and digital infrastructure investment. He noted that expanding the company's manufacturing footprint in Malaysia will enhance its ability to deliver quality, speed, scale, and supply chain resilience to customers across the region.
The new facility reflects Vertiv's long-term commitment to supporting the rapid adoption of AI technologies and cloud infrastructure. It also highlights Malaysia's growing role as a regional hub for data center development, driven by increasing demand for digital services and AI-enabled computing capacity.
