Chery Tiggo 9 Officially Launches in Malaysia with Early Bird Packages
Chery Malaysia has officially introduced the all-new Chery Tiggo 9, the brand’s flagship seven-seater SUV, to the Malaysian market. To celebrate the launch, the company is offering two Early Bird packages – Flexi priced at RM166,800 and Prime priced at RM179,800.
Customers who choose the Prime package will receive additional benefits including a RM5,000 cash rebate, RM3,000 petrol subsidy, and one year of free insurance worth RM4,500. Chery has not announced how long the promotion will last or whether it is limited to a certain number of units.
As standard, every Tiggo 9 comes with a 7-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, a 10-year or 1,000,000km engine warranty, and five years of free scheduled maintenance, subject to terms and conditions.
The Tiggo 9 is Chery Malaysia’s first all-wheel-drive model and is designed as a premium family SUV with seating for seven passengers. It features premium touches such as puddle lights, a 14-speaker Sony sound system, and an acoustic windscreen that helps reduce cabin noise.
On the outside, the SUV features a bold 3D diamond-style front grille, LED headlights and taillights, as well as stylish 20-inch alloy wheels. Measuring 4,810mm in length, the Tiggo 9 offers a spacious cabin and flexible cargo space ranging from 143 litres to 2,065 litres, depending on the seating configuration.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 252hp and 390Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The intelligent all-wheel-drive system offers seven driving modes, including Eco, Normal, Sport, Sand, Mud, Snow, and Off-Road.
Inside, the front seats come with ventilation and massage functions, while the driver gets a 10-way power-adjustable seat with memory settings. Rear passengers also benefit from their own air-conditioning controls, privacy glass, and window shades.
Technology highlights include a large 15.6-inch infotainment screen, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other premium features include a 50W wireless charger with cooling function, Head-Up Display, power-adjustable steering column, and 64-colour ambient lighting.
Safety is another key focus for the Tiggo 9. The SUV is built with 85% high-strength steel, comes with 10 airbags, and features an advanced ADAS package with 23 safety functions. It also includes a 540-degree camera system and an automatic parking assist feature that can help steer, accelerate, and brake during parking manoeuvres.
With its combination of performance, technology, comfort, and safety, the Chery Tiggo 9 aims to compete strongly in Malaysia’s premium SUV segment.
