PROTON Donates Engines To Help Students Learn Automotive Skills
PROTON is helping students learn more about car technology by donating engine units to several TVET centres and universities in Malaysia.
The programme is meant to give students real hands-on experience with actual car engines used in modern vehicles. This helps students understand how cars work better compared to learning only from books or normal training models.
Some of the schools and universities involved include ILP Marang, Vocational College Arau, UTHM, UMPSA, DRB-HICOM University and PROTON Institute (ADTEC) Melaka.
Students can use the engines to learn important automotive skills such as opening and assembling engines, checking problems, understanding ECU systems and doing maintenance work.
PROTON said this effort is part of the company’s commitment to support Malaysia’s automotive industry and help prepare more skilled workers for the future.
Deputy CEO of PROTON, Dato’ Ir. Abdul Rashid Musa, said the company also plans to provide EV-related parts in the future so students can learn more about electric vehicle technology.
As the automotive industry continues to grow with new technologies and electric vehicles, programmes like this can help Malaysian students gain better skills and prepare for future jobs in the industry.
