At IPENET, we believe that meaningful progress goes beyond business performance. It is also reflected in how we contribute to the communities around us. As part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we were honoured to support the Misi Sukarelawan: Kembara Anak Watan ke Sabah 4.0 (KEWASA 4.0) initiative organised by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
KEWASA 4.0 is a volunteer-driven programme aimed at supporting underserved communities in Kunak and Semporna, Sabah. Through a week-long mission, dedicated student volunteers engaged with local communities, schools, and families to deliver impactful initiatives focusing on education, welfare, and community development.
The programme reached multiple locations across Sabah and brought together volunteers and community members to create meaningful connections and deliver direct support to those in need. From distributing essential items to conducting educational and motivational activities, the initiative demonstrated the power of collective action in creating positive change.
A key focus of KEWASA 4.0 was education. Volunteers worked closely with students through mentoring sessions, interactive learning activities, and motivational programmes aimed at encouraging personal growth and academic development.
Beyond the classroom, the programme also fostered community engagement through activities such as gotong-royong, cultural exchanges, and interactive sessions that strengthened relationships between volunteers and the local community.
These efforts not only provided immediate support but also contributed to long-term community development by empowering individuals with knowledge, confidence, and opportunities.
IPENET’s participation in KEWASA 4.0 reflects our commitment to supporting initiatives that align with key social development goals, including improving access to education, reducing inequality, and uplifting communities in need.
