Congratulations and welcome to the motherhood club! πŸŽ‰

Batu Pahat and Muar are home to many talents working in KL or Singapore. For many expectant mums, nothing beats the comfort of "Balik Kampung" for confinement.

You get the familiar hometown food, your parents' support, and access to excellent specialist hospitals like Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail (BP) and Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah (Muar).

However, the biggest question is: "I already opened a Red Book in KL/JB. Can I just bring it back to BP/Muar to give birth?"

Our advice: You cannot just "show up"! You need to do a proper Transfer Procedure.

  • The Red Book Follows You: If you decide to return home for delivery (usually around 32-34 weeks), you MUST inform your current clinic (KK) nurses. They will prepare a Referral Letter for the KK in your hometown.
  • Seamless Transition: Once you arrive in BP or Muar, go to the nearest KK immediately to report yourself (Lapor Diri). This ensures the local team has your records. If you go into labor early, the local hospital will already know your history.

Step 1: When Should You Go?

  • If you live in BP/Muar permanently: 8 weeks - 12 weeks of pregnancy.
  • If you are "Balik Kampung" (Returning Home): Please report to the local KK within your first week of arrival. Do not wait until your water breaks!

Step 2: Document Checklist

Besides your IC, if you are staying with your parents, you need proof of their address:

  1. Mother's MyKad (IC): Original + Copy.
  2. Husband's MyKad (IC): Original + Copy.
  3. Marriage Certificate: Original + Copy.
  4. Utility Bill (Bill Api/Air):
    • If staying at your parents' house, bring their utility bill.
    • Residents of Batu Pahat Town, Taman Bukit Pasir, Flora Utama usually go to KK Batu Pahat.
    • Residents of Muar Town, Tanjung Agas usually go to KK Maharani.
  5. MOST IMPORTANT (For Transfer): The Referral Letter from your previous KK.
  6. Black Pen: For filling up forms.

πŸ“ Appendix: Where to Report in BP & Muar?

⚠️ Parking Tip:
KK Batu Pahat is on Jalan Kluang, which is always busy with traffic.
KK Maharani (Muar) is near the Second Bridge area and gets very crowded in the mornings.
Advice: Both are the main clinics for their districts. It is highly recommended to get your family members to drop you off so you don't have to walk far.
