What is tooth fluorosis?

Tooth fluorosis is a condition that happens when a child gets too much fluoride while the permanent teeth are still developing (usually before age 8).
It affects the appearance of the enamel, not the health of the tooth.



Causes:
- Excessive fluoride intake during teeth development, eg high fluoride concentration in drinking water, excessive fluoride supplyment
