GAC M8 PHEV Makes Malaysian Debut – Bookings Open, Estimated from RM333k
WTC Automotif (WTCA) has introduced the GAC M8 at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, marking Malaysia’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) luxury MPV. Estimated at RM333,000, the MPV is now open for booking ahead of its official launch later this year. The unit on display appears to be a Singapore-spec GAC E9, identifiable by an Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) device. In Singapore, the model starts from SGD284,988 (about RM946,000 with COE). Design-wise, the GAC M8 features a boxy MPV silhouette with crystal-like DRLs flowing into its grille. Inside, it offers second-row captain seats, a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital gauge cluster, and a foldable rear table. Key features include a full suite of ADAS and GAC’s 360-degree full-surround airbag technology, notably with the world’s first rear windscreen airbag. Performance is expected to mirror the Singaporean GAC E9, powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine (190 hp) paired with an electric motor (190 hp / 140 kW, 330 Nm), with AC and DC charging support. The combined driving range is up to1,038 km. The GAC M8 comes with a five-year or 150,000 km warranty, plus an eight-year or 150,000 km warranty for the battery, motor, and electric control systems. Early customers will also enjoy two years of free scheduled maintenance and a portable charging cable worth RM3,800.
