KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 23) — Sentral REIT Management Sdn Bhd has named Tay Hui Ling as acting CEO of Sentral REIT, effective Jan 22. Her appointment will be formalised once approval is obtained from the Securities Commission, according to a bourse filing.
Tay succeeds Teh Wan Wei, former CEO and vice-chairman of the Malaysian REIT Managers Association, who stepped down in September 2025 and has since taken up the CEO role at Sunway REIT in December 2025.
At 49, Tay brings extensive experience in fund and asset management. She was previously head of funds management for Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia at LOGOS (ESR Group), overseeing logistics fund portfolios with approximately US$2.5 billion in assets under management.
Sentral REIT highlighted that her responsibilities covered portfolio strategy, capital raising, acquisitions and divestments, asset and liquidity management, fund structuring, and investor relations. Tay has also held senior positions with global institutions, including the Government Investment Corporation of Singapore, Lendlease, and HSBC Investment Banking in London.
Sentral REIT’s portfolio focuses on prime office and commercial buildings across the Klang Valley and Penang, with key assets including Menara CelcomDigi, Menara Shell, Platinum Sentral, and part of Plaza Mont Kiara. The portfolio recorded an occupancy rate of 86% as of September 2025, reflecting steady demand for high-quality commercial and office space in strategic locations.
Units of Sentral REIT ended the trading day unchanged at 80 sen, valuing the REIT at RM956.4 million.
Tay’s appointment is expected to strengthen management oversight and investor confidence in Sentral REIT, particularly as the market for office space in Bukit Jalil, commercial property in KL, and industrial property in Subang area continues to see sustained activity and leasing demand.
