Proton Ends November 2025 Strong, Defies Softer Market Conditions
Proton ended November 2025 on a strong note, recording 13,451 units in total sales including domestic and export deliveries. This brought the national carmaker’s year-to-date (YTD) sales to 143,322 units, representing a 3.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, despite a softer overall automotive market where Malaysia’s Total Industry Volume (TIV) declined 0.9% year-on-year. The solid performance lifted Proton’s market share to 18.4% in November and 19.7% on a YTD basis, allowing the brand to maintain its position as the second-largest carmaker in Malaysia. The Proton Saga continued to be the brand’s main volume driver, contributing 6,931 units in November and pushing its YTD total to 66,038 units. November marked a transition period as production ramps up for the all-new Saga, which has already secured more than 30,000 bookings, indicating strong demand that is expected to carry into 2026. In the B-segment SUV category, the Proton X50 remained a key pillar with 2,127 units sold in November, bringing its YTD total to 25,974 units, a 23.5% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, the Proton S70 continued to lead the C-segment sedan market, registering 1,487 units in November and 15,828 units YTD, retaining its position as the best-selling model in its segment. Other models also supported Proton’s monthly performance. The Proton Persona recorded 1,050 units (YTD 14,214), followed by the Proton X70 with 471 units (YTD 7,184), the Proton X90 with 234 units (YTD 2,357), and the Proton Iriz, which closed the month with 241 units, bringing its YTD tally to 3,208 units. On the electrification front, Proton saw growing interest following the launch of the e.MAS 5, which attracted more customers into showrooms and resulted in a 14.8% month-on-month increase in EV sales. The e.MAS 7 remained the standout performer, with 830 units registered in November and a YTD total of 7,784 units, allowing it to retain its position as Malaysia’s best-selling electric vehicle. Looking ahead, Proton said the recent launches of the e.MAS 5 and all-new Saga, together with a preview of an upcoming PHEV model, have strengthened the brand’s technology image and placed the company in a strong position to drive further sales growth in 2026.
