Building 726m of Pipes in Woodlands Unobstrusively and Efficiently
Singapore’s urban landscape presents complex challenges for underground utility design and construction. The restless city and its residents work hard and play harder. Life cannot stop for large-scale open digging works to happen, but infrastructure must still expand to supply clean water, power, internet, etc. to new homeowners, businesses, and industries.
HSC answered the call to action and delivered an extensive network of utilities underground through one entry shaft, pushing pipes through the depths of Singapore to connect the neighbourhoods of Woodlands to the grid. Few would notice the rumble beneath their feet as HSC worked tirelessly, but many more now enjoy the amenities of modern life, and that is a sufficient prize for our company.
Can't Turn Off the Faucet? Not a Problem for HSC
Water is the liquid of life. No one wants to be deprived access to it, even for a few hours. However, the pipes that deliver this precious resource to Singaporeans have been in operation for many decades and need renewal and upgrade. HSC has led the way by successfully planning and executing the installation of an upgraded valve on a water main while it’s still in operation, redefining how the industry handles these types of projects. Through proving it can be done, HSC aims to inspire those within and without to never rest on our laurels. We stand on the shoulders of giants, and we will be giants for the next generation.
HSC Keeps Cool, and Singapore Chill
Singapore is well on its way to becoming a smart, sustainable, and green nation. Reflecting this is the various district cooling projects across the nation, connecting multiple buildings in a single chilled water loop to enjoy sizeable economies of scale in temperature regulating capacity. HSC recently helped to complete the district cooling loop at Our Tampines Hub.
Going from strength to strength, HSC’s portfolio of successfully delivered projects is diverse, robust, and ground-breaking. As we carry on with our refreshed Vision and Mission, HSC gives special thanks to the heart of our strength – our people.
