Chery Malaysia Crosses 30,000 Sales in Under Three Years

Chery Malaysia has surpassed 30,073 cumulative vehicle sales in less than three years since entering the local market, driven by steady customer demand and the rapid expansion of its model line-up.

Sales momentum began in 2023, with 4,501 units delivered between June and December, before continuing year-on-year. By the end of last year, the brand recorded 12,930 vehicles delivered to Malaysian customers.

Chery’s journey in Malaysia started with internal combustion models such as the Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro, before expanding into electrified vehicles. This included the launch of the Omoda E5 in March 2024, followed by a broader Tiggo range offering ICE, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options.

The company says the Omoda 5 (now known as Chery 05) remains its best-selling model, while the expanded Tiggo line-up continues to attract buyers seeking greater space and everyday comfort. The Tiggo range now spans six models, playing a key role in Chery Malaysia’s 2025 performance as interest in new energy vehicles grows.

Looking ahead, Chery Malaysia’s growth will be supported by the new Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park in Lembah Beringin, Selangor. The RM2.2 billion, 200-acre facility is expected to boost local production and increase manufacturing capacity, with the first phase set to be completed in the first half of 2026.
