Perodua Traz Makes Malaysian Debut, Priced from RM76,100

Perodua has officially launched the all-new Perodua Traz, a B-segment SUV aimed at buyers looking for a practical and affordable compact SUV. The new model is priced from RM76,100 on-the-road without insurance, making it one of the most competitively priced vehicles in its segment. The lineup consists of two variants, namely the Traz X (RM76,100) and Traz H (RM81,100), with a dual-tone Traz H priced at RM82,000.

Built on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform, the Perodua Traz becomes the fourth Perodua model to use this structure after the Ativa, Axia and Alza. This platform focuses on improved safety, rigidity and efficiency, forming the foundation of Perodua’s latest generation of vehicles.

In terms of size, the Perodua Traz measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width and 1,655 mm in height, while its 2,620 mm wheelbase is the longest in its class, edging out rivals such as the Proton X50 and Chery Tiggo Cross. The longer wheelbase translates into better cabin space and rear-seat comfort.

Design-wise, the Traz is closely related to the Toyota Yaris Cross, but features Perodua-specific styling, including a unique front grille and bumper design and a fully body-coloured rear bumper. Standard exterior highlights include 17-inch alloy wheels and full LED lighting, while the H variant adds a hands-free power tailgate.

Inside the cabin, the Perodua Traz is equipped with a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a 4.2-inch TFT display within the analogue instrument cluster. Rear air vents are standard, while the H variant gains leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, a six-speaker sound system, automatic climate control and key-free entry with door sensors.

Powering both variants is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine producing 106 hp and 138 Nm of torque, paired with a D-CVT gearbox driving the front wheels. According to the Malaysian Driving Cycle (MDC), the Perodua Traz delivers a fuel consumption figure of 21.3 km/L.

Safety is a strong focus, with six airbags fitted as standard alongside Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) suite. This includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and vehicle detection, lane departure warning and prevention, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. The H variant further adds a 360-degree surround view camera and a digital video recorder, although adaptive cruise control is not available on either variant.

For colours, the Perodua Traz is offered in four single-tone options – Red, White, Silver and Grey. Buyers opting for the H variant can choose two dual-tone options, namely Glittering Silver with Black Roof and Electric Blue with Black Roof, for an additional RM900. Perodua also offers a range of Gear-Up accessories, including body kits, leather seat covers, ambient lighting and a wireless phone charger.

The all-new Perodua Traz comes with a three-year or 100,000 km general warranty, while engine and transmission components are covered for five years or 150,000 km, reinforcing its value proposition in the highly competitive B-segment SUV market.
