Chery Malaysia Kicks Off CNY 2026 with ‘New Year Prosperity Deal’ Offering Big Savings
With the new year just getting started and Chinese New Year celebrations approaching, car buyers can expect another wave of festive promotions. Chery Malaysia is joining the season with its CNY 2026 ‘New Year Prosperity Deal’, offering cash rebates of up to RM16,888 across selected MY2025 models. Leading the promotion is Chery’s flagship SUV, the Tiggo 8 Pro, which enjoys the largest rebate of RM16,888. Priced at RM159,800, the three-row SUV is followed by the Tiggo 7 Pro, which carries a RM11,888 discount off its RM123,800 price tag. Under the bonnet, the Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 197 hp and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Meanwhile, the Tiggo 8 Pro remains the most powerful internal combustion Chery model in Malaysia, featuring a 2.0-litre turbo engine delivering 256 hp and 390 Nm, also matched to a seven-speed DCT. Positioned as Chery’s most affordable offering locally, the Tiggo Cross, which debuted last year, is also part of the promotion. Buyers can choose between a 1.5-litre turbo petrol version generating 147 PS and 210 Nm with a six-speed DCT, or a hybrid variant producing a combined 204 PS and 310 Nm. Priced at RM88,800 for the Turbo and RM99,800 for the Hybrid — currently Malaysia’s most affordable hybrid — both variants now come with a RM6,888 rebate. Chery’s electrified lineup also benefits from festive incentives. Introduced in October 2025, the Tiggo 8 PHEV (RM159,800) and Tiggo 7 PHEV (RM129,800) feature Chery’s CSH plug-in hybrid system, combining a 1.5-litre Miller-cycle turbo engine producing 143 PS and 215 Nm with an electric motor rated at 204 PS and 310 Nm. Total system output stands at 275 PS and 365 Nm, delivered through a dedicated stepless hybrid transmission. The Tiggo 8 PHEV is based on the facelifted model and features a newly designed, EV-inspired cockpit. Both PHEV models are offered with a RM6,888 cash rebate, along with a complimentary extended battery warranty covering the battery, motor and control unit for 10 years or 200,000 km, valued at RM3,000. Adding to the festive cheer, customers who choose the red colour option for the Tiggo 7 PHEV or Tiggo Cross Turbo will receive an extra RM1,000 thematic discount, bringing total savings for these models to RM7,888.
