At TIM Bodycare Training Centre, we believe that wellness is more than physical health — it’s about dignity, equality, and compassion. Since 2003, our mission has been clear: to empower people through education, wellness, and self-respect, while creating opportunities that uplift communities across Malaysia and beyond.
But as we grow, one truth stands firm - there is no wellness without equality.
And there is no equality without kindness to others, and to ourselves.
Our founder, Tim Low, built TIM Bodycare on the belief that everyone deserves a chance to live a better life — no matter their background, income, or ability. What began as a training centre for professional massage therapists has evolved into a social movement aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 1, 4, and 8):
SDG 1 – End Poverty: By offering professional skills training and job placement for the B40 and OKU communities, we help individuals achieve financial stability and dignity through sustainable careers.
SDG 4 – Quality Education: We provide inclusive, internationally accredited training that opens doors for all learners — from beginners to aspiring spa managers and health entrepreneurs.
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: We are committed to creating sustainable jobs, promoting fair employment, and empowering Malaysians to build a thriving, equitable wellness industry.
In the last 20 years, we’ve trained over 3,000 local and international students, spreading Malaysia’s proud heritage of Urutan Malaysia across the globe.
In an industry that touches lives — literally — through healing and care, we know that racism and prejudice have no place.
Our classrooms, training centres, and therapy rooms welcome every body — every skin tone, every culture, every belief system.
But let’s ask ourselves some difficult questions:
π How can we preach care for others if we don’t first care for ourselves?
π How can we stand for equality if we quietly judge differences — in others or in our own reflection?
At TIM Bodycare, we remind our students and staff daily: the way you touch others’ lives begins with how gently you treat your own.
Self-care is not selfish; it’s a foundation for empathy. When you learn to listen to your body, you also learn to listen to others. When you respect your own limits, you begin to respect the struggles of those around you.
Ask yourself:
πΏ When was the last time you spoke kindly to yourself?
πΏ Do you give yourself permission to rest, to heal, to grow — the same way you would encourage someone else?
Tim Low often reminds his students:
“When you make a choice to do something that you really like, then it is called freedom.”
That same freedom — to love yourself, to honor your identity, and to rise above prejudice — is what we hope to inspire in every person who walks through our doors.
Our training programs go beyond certification — they are pathways to independence.
Through our OKU and B40 empowerment initiatives, we provide:
β
Subsidized skill training in massage and reflexology for low-income groups.
β
Job placement programs with our spa and corporate partners.
β
Inclusive opportunities for single mothers, retired service members, and rural communities.
By transforming lives through skill and dignity, we’re proving that wellness can be a tool for social equality and poverty alleviation.
Racism divides. Poverty limits. Self-doubt weakens.
But kindness, education, and equality build strength — in individuals and in nations.
At TIM Bodycare Training Centre, we’re not just training therapists; we’re nurturing compassionate professionals who understand that every human being deserves to be seen, respected, and cared for.
Because when you’re kind to yourself, you create the space to be kind to others.
And that’s where real healing begins — in the heart.
