The AMS ADVA4024 Chromic Catgut Suture is a natural absorbable sterile surgical suture made from purified connective tissue (mostly collagen) of healthy bovine intestines. Treated with chromic salts to prolong absorption time and minimize tissue reaction, this size 0 gut suture is designed for internal soft tissue approximation where absorbable support is required.
Each strand measures 75cm and is attached to a 37mm 1/2 circle taper point (TP) needle, ideal for smooth penetration of delicate internal tissues without cutting. The chromic coating ensures predictable absorption and handling performance, making it a preferred choice for general surgery, gynecology, urology, and other soft tissue procedures.
Packaged in a box of 12 individually sterile sutures, AMS Gut sutures offer the quality and consistency surgeons trust.
Absorbable Performance
Naturally absorbed by enzymatic action over 90–120 days, eliminating the need for suture removal.
Chromic Coating for Extended Support
Treated with chromic salts to reduce tissue reactivity and provide longer tensile strength retention compared to plain gut.
Smooth Tissue Passage
1/2 circle taper point needle (37mm) allows gentle, non-cutting penetration — ideal for internal and soft tissues.
Reliable Tensile Strength
Size 0 suture offers enhanced tensile strength for closure in high-stress tissue areas.
Sterile and Convenient Packaging
Each suture is individually packaged and sterile, supplied in boxes of 12 for efficiency in surgical settings.
Versatile Surgical Use
Suitable for general surgery, OB/GYN, urology, and soft tissue approximation where absorbable sutures are preferred.
