Each tablet contains:
Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg (biguanide class)
Glibenclamide 5 mg (sulfonylurea class)
This fixed-dose combination helps control blood glucose by two complementary mechanisms: reducing liver glucose production and increasing insulin release.
Indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults.
Especially useful when diet, exercise, and monotherapy with either metformin or glibenclamide do not result in adequate blood glucose control.
Used as second-line therapy.
Dosage: Usually 1 tablet once or twice daily, with dose adjustments based on individual response and tolerability.
Administration: Take with meals to minimize gastrointestinal side effects.
Monitoring: Regular monitoring of blood glucose and renal function is recommended.
Precautions: Not suitable for type 1 diabetes, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or patients with kidney/liver impairment unless advised by a doctor.
