Overview:
Rockwool insulation is a high-performance, mineral-based product made by melting natural basalt rock and recycled slag, spun into dense, fibrous mats. It’s engineered to provide superior energy efficiency, sound dampening, and fire resistance for a wide range of building and industrial applications.
Unlike many traditional insulation materials, Rockwool is completely non-combustible and can withstand temperatures above 1000°C (1832°F), making it ideal for improving fire safety and preventing fire spread in buildings.
Rockwool’s dense fiber structure traps air pockets, significantly reducing heat transfer. This helps maintain stable indoor temperatures, reducing heating and cooling costs year-round. It’s effective for both cold climates (keeping heat inside) and hot climates (reflecting heat out).
The fibrous nature of Rockwool absorbs sound waves and reduces noise transmission, making it perfect for:
Residential walls and ceilings
Office partitions
Recording studios
Industrial machinery rooms
It improves comfort by minimizing external noise and echo.
Rockwool is water-repellent but vapor permeable, allowing walls to breathe while preventing moisture buildup that can cause mold, rot, or damage to structures. It is also resistant to pests and insects because it is inorganic.
Manufactured with natural volcanic rock and recycled materials, Rockwool is recyclable and environmentally responsible. Its long lifespan reduces waste, and its insulation properties lower carbon footprints by cutting energy use.
Available in batts, rolls, slabs, and loose-fill, Rockwool can be easily cut and fitted into cavities, attics, walls, ceilings, and floors. It can also be used for duct insulation and industrial pipe lagging.
