Wires usually snap if the timer setting is too high, causing the wire to overheat and become brittle. Additionally, ensure your Nitto Sealer Cloth is in good condition; a burnt or torn cloth can cause the wire to short-circuit or overheat locally.
Should I replace the Teflon cloth at the same time?
Yes. For the best performance and to prevent the plastic from sticking to the new wire, it is highly recommended to replace the Nitto PTFE cloth whenever you install a new heating element.
