GUARDIAN 3C Heat Shrinkable Wraparound Sleeve (Visco-Elastic Mastic Composite Coating Sleeve or
3C) represents the latest advancement in pipeline field joint protection. It has been specifically developed for the pipeline industry, combining the proven long-term corrosion protection of visco-elastic technology with the ease of application associated with heat shrinkable sleeves.
By incorporating a visco-elastic mastic layer into the heat shrinkable sleeve,
GUARDIAN 3C eliminates variability in sleeve application. The visco-elastic mastic ensures intimate adhesion to the steel surface and the factory-applied parent coating, providing reliable and durable protection.
Configuration
The GUARDIAN 3C Sleeve features a
dual-adhesive structure consisting of:
- Visco-Elastic Mastic: Extruded onto the central section of the sleeve for direct contact with the steel joint and parent coating.
- Hot-Melt Adhesive Mastic: Extruded onto both sides of the visco-elastic section to form a high-strength radial bond with the parent coating.
- Backing: Radiation cross-linked high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
