KOATE DVI (5 mL Vial 250 IU) contains 250 IU of antihemophilic factor (Factor VIII) derived from human plasma. It is used to treat hemophilia A, a genetic disorder that impairs the body's ability to make blood clots.
Indications:
KOATE DVI is indicated for:

• Control and prevention of bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia A.
• Preoperative and postoperative management of patients with hemophilia A undergoing surgery.

1. Reconstitution: Add the entire contents of the vial of sterile water for injection to the vial containing KOATE DVI powder. Gently swirl until the powder is completely dissolved.
2. Administration: Inject the reconstituted solution intravenously (IV) under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
3. Dosage: The dosage is individualized based on the severity of the bleeding, the patient's weight, and the desired increase in Factor VIII levels. Typical dosages are:
   • Minor bleeding: 20-40% Factor VIII increase
   • Moderate bleeding: 30-60% Factor VIII increase
   • Severe bleeding: 60-100% Factor VIII increase
4. Monitoring: Regular monitoring of Factor VIII levels and clinical response is necessary.
5. Precautions: Inform your healthcare provider if you have any allergies, especially to mouse proteins, or if you have a history of heart disease, kidney problems, or other bleeding disorders.
