Introduction

This is training on ergonomics. It was designed in accordance with ergonomics management, knowledge and prevention of ergonomic effects from daily working activities. Ergonomics is a science dealing with the application of information on human physical and psychological characteristics to the design of the work environment. Most employees exposed to ergonomic risk are required to be trained in order to minimize the possibility of them experiencing ergonomic-related effects.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this program, the participants will be able to:

• Understand ergonomic management and the effect of improper handling of work
• Understand spatial relationships between the equipment and worker's movement in the area
• Identify the method used for manipulating, securing and using hand tools, including the force required for gripping or actuating the tools
• Understand the causes of repetitive trauma disorders, including carpal tunnel syndrome, white finger and muscular diskette disorder
