QI-50-V-485 AC/DC TRMS Current Transformer

The QEED QI-50-V-485 is an isolated AC/DC current transducer designed to measure DC current and AC TRMS current. It provides both RS485 Modbus RTU communication and a 0–10V analogue output, making it suitable for automation, monitoring, energy systems and industrial measurement applications.

The device functions like an active current transformer but can also measure the DC component. It supports configurable span, zero and Modbus address settings through RS485 or the free FACILE QI-50-V-485 software.

Overview

QI-50-V-485 is suitable for applications where both AC and DC current values need to be monitored from one compact device. It is galvanically isolated from the measuring circuit and can be used in electrical panels, DC systems, UPS, battery systems, machinery, motor control and automation systems.

The device provides a 0–10V analogue output for direct connection to analogue input systems and RS485 Modbus RTU for digital integration with PLC, SCADA, EMS, BMS, data logger, Modbus gateway, IoT gateway or IoTWatt 4.0.

Configuration

QI-50-V-485 can be configured through RS485 using a USB / RS232 / RS485 converter and the free FACILE QI-50-V-485 software. The same configuration can also be done from a supervisory system using Modbus registers.

Configuration note: DIP-switch changes require the power supply to be switched off before changing the setting. This is a safety condition to avoid unwanted changes during operation.

Installation Note

High-intensity magnetic fields can change the values measured by the transducer. Avoid installation near permanent magnets, electromagnets or iron masses that may induce strong changes in the magnetic field. If irregular measurement is observed, reorient or relocate the transducer to a more suitable position.

Mounting: The current transducer can be mounted horizontally or vertically using screw fixing or the included DIN rail clips.

System Integration

QI-50-V-485 is suitable for applications where both analogue and digital current signals are required. The 0–10V output can connect to analogue input cards, while RS485 Modbus RTU can be used by PLC, SCADA, EMS, BMS, Modbus gateway, IoT gateway or IoTWatt 4.0 systems.
